CABM Credential Leads to 200 PDUs for PMPs

In March 2007, the Project Management Institute (PMI) in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania approved the CBM and CABM credentials to receive Professional Development Units (PDUs) to satisfy PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) for its Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) certifications. CBMs can now receive a total of 800 PDUs, 200 PDUs for each part of the four-part CBM Exams while CABMs can receive 200 PDUs. For the CBM Exam, APBM will issue a letter of completion once you pass all parts of the CBM Exam and will not issue a separate completion letter for each exam part. For the CABM Exam, APBM will issue a letter of completion once you pass the CABM Exam.

According to PMI, both PMPs and PgMPs are required to earn and report a minimum of 60 PDUs during each CCR cycle, which is typically three years. The PMI’s recognition is a reflection of CBM’s and CABM’s in-depth coverage of general business management knowledge and skills. APBM will issue a CBM completion letter for each part and a CABM completion letter for submission to PMI to receive the PDU credit.
