Individuals planning to pursue an MBA degree should take the CABM Exam to maximize their business school experience. The CABM Exam is most effective if you take it after you've taken your GMAT and before you are starting your MBA studies. This is the time period in which you are preparing for and evaluating various MBA programs and need to have a strong realistic idea of your knowledge levels and skill sets. The CABM ensures that you have a strong foundation in business principles that makes your classroom time, your case studies, lectures, and your class projects more effective and enriching. You will be able to focus on applying business principles instead of learning them for the first time. This is especially true for individuals who may not have worked in the business field or do not have undergraduate degrees in business. Please note that earning the CABM Designation may not either eliminate or reduce the specific course requirements of your MBA program.

Business schools strive to have diverse student bodies, so preparing yourself for in-class competition, especially in weak areas, will increase confidence and knowledge levels. For example, you may be in finance classes with individuals who have been in corporate finance or investment banking. It may be difficult to compete if you are not already familiar with finance principles. Since these classmates are already familiar with the basic financial principles, they can focus on applying them in various business situations. If you are not already familiar with the same principles, you will be learning them for the first time. With the CABM, you can use your MBA class time wisely!
